One fresh strawberry from your kitchen is all you need. No store-bought seeds, no garden — just a pot, a windowsill, and these 4 steps.
Step 01 — Extract the Seeds

Take a ripe strawberry and gently scrape the tiny seeds off the surface using a toothpick or knife tip. Place them on a damp paper towel and let them dry for 2–3 days. Once dry they are ready to plant.
🍓 Use the ripest, reddest strawberry you can find — more viable seeds.
Step 02 — Plant in a Pot

Fill a small pot with seed-starting mix. Scatter seeds on the surface of the soil — do not bury them, strawberry seeds need light to germinate. Mist lightly with water and cover with cling wrap to keep moisture in. Place in a bright spot at 18–24°C.
Step 03 — Wait for Sprouts

Germination takes 14–21 days — slower than tomatoes, so be patient. Remove the cling wrap once sprouts appear. Keep soil moist and give seedlings 6+ hours of sunlight daily. Thin to the strongest plant once they reach 3–4 cm.
Step 04 — Grow, Flower & Harvest

Move to a wider pot at 10 cm tall. Water every 2 days and feed with a basic liquid fertiliser once a month. Small white flowers appear around day 45 — berries follow in 60–90 days total. Harvest when fully red and fragrant.
💡 Pro tip: Place your pot on a balcony or near an open window when flowering — bees and airflow help pollination indoors.
